Vintage 1950s mosaic blue and white patterned rayon shirt-waisted gown with cute neck tie scarf collar labelled 'Westbury Fashion'.Bought this for myself but sadly, it is too small in the bust. The top is a negative pattern of the skirt, collar and sleeve hem which gives a lovely two-tone contrast to the dress. Has 5 original buttons down the front and the there is a hook and eye opening at the top of the bodice just above the waistline to open the front skirt up for easy dressing. There is also tiny button at the neckline to close the collar right up if desired. The skirt is pleated at the waist in sections and the bodice is darted at the back and bust to give a fitted look.
A quality made garment with hemming ribbon at the waist and armholes on the inside of the dress to finish it off. There is a also about 6cm (3 in) that could be let down from the skirt hem if desired. A gorgeous dress for spring or summer!
