'60's "C" contract G-1 size 46. Good condition, mouton in great shape. Original zipper and liner. Liner has a worn spot by the collar. Sleeve has one small tear that I backed up on the inside with a piece of leather. Right shoulder has a scrape that does not go through. I replaced the worn knits with a set of M-422A knits from G&B. This was done completely by hand using the original stitch holes. I'm 6' 17X35 shirt and it fits perfectly.
$325
Pit to pit 24
Zipper 23
Shoulder to the end of the cuff 25.5
Back length 26

It'll be little comfort, but this is almost exactly what I'm looking for.

But, being a leather jacket beginner, it's given me a hint that I need to think about getting a 48" for length, as I'm 6'4" and 46" chest, but 26" at the back might leave me a little drafty.

Thanks for the free knowledge...

Vintage 48's are going to be hard to come by (might not be too hard for the later contracts, "E" and on up, but the jacket quality goes down as well) - you may want to talk to G&B about having an M-422A or G-1 made for your measurments, best way to ensure a good fit. Or if you want an A-2, talk to John Chapman (Goodwear) and see if he has any 48 test jackets lying around.
Cheers
Mark
