77 Sunset Strip is probably my all-time favorite TV show, so my first reaction was "Nooooooo!" Upon further thought however, it could lead to an official DVD release of the original series, which I've been waiting for for years, so maybe it's not so bad after all. Fingers crossed!
I concur with Lusti Weather, the best thing that can come out of this is the DVD release of the original shows. I'll bet that the dialog in the film won't come close to that of the original. For example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pqvFmAm9C5w
And Gerald Lloyd "Kookie" Kookson III will be played by whom???!!! "You meet the high brow and the hipster The starlet and the phony tipster You meet most every kind of guy and gal Including a private eye!" http://www.fiftiesweb.com/fashion/kookie.htm -dixon cannon
When in L.A. last month, I drove over to 8524 W. Sunset Blvd., where Dino’s Lodge was. This is where they filmed a lot of the exteriors for the series; there never was an address 77 Sunset Strip. In the sidewalk at that address you can see this….. Regards, Forrestal
