87 year old Medal of Honor holder Woody Williams appeared on the Discovery Channel show "Sons of Guns" recently. The show centers on a weapons company in Louisiana. Woody single handedly destroyed Japanese pillboxes on Iwo Jima with a flame thrower. Check Wikipedia for more information on Hershel W. Williams.

Oorah!! That is one hard corps old leatherneck! Those flamethrowers are fun toys, we have three functional flamethrowers in the USMCHC armory. You would be hard pressed to find a young guy who can take that heat, so to see Williams still rocking it at 87 is motivating to the maximum!

Great story. I seen it on TV the other night. We need to see more stuff like this showing off Vets from all wars.

My hat off to him! I wonder what was going through his mind as he showed them all how it's done...My father spoke in positive terms of how flamethrowers were used at the mouths of caves in (if memory serves me right) Attu in 1943.
