Valentine's Day cards have been around for a long, long time. This handmade card with a pressed flower is from 1861 and is the oldest card I've ever found.

A fresh young squire
A lover and a lusty bachelor
With locks curled as they were
laid in press
Of thirty years of age he is

The sentiment is a bit stilted by our standards, but it was a different world back then - and even today, how could one fail to be charmed by a lady named Luna who lived at an idyllic sounding place called Sunnydell...
