as long as it is not painted metal,
I like darkened/ antiqued silver look on my black denim jacket, I couldn't find similar tone locally.

Brass and nickel are both fine for black leather. I prefer the way brass ages, but it's completely a matter of personal preference. Nickel ages nicely too. I think that chrome and aluminum look tacky, compared to a real nickel finish. Go with what you like.

My opinion? Go for the brass.

I prefer brass on both, although I do have nickel on one or two of my black jackets. As another poster said above, regular brass ages fairly quickly.
