Why not order the black if that’s want you want, and not the blackened brown?

Because a tough top coat makes a veg-tanned jacket much more versatile and I don't mind it wearing through–I even like the idea… but not when it's 20 years of wear per month.

So my Indian Ranger is CXL FQHH and is pretty rapidly showing brown undertones. However no-one would mistake it for anything but a black jacket still 2-years in. If it's sunny day tomorrow I'll take some current shots of the IR and post them.

A while back I had a Vicenza jacket that was originally black but in the right light looked totally brown. Here is that jacket, long departed, also in my old diesel pickup which is also long departed.
