There was a revamp on the go - reinstating the second row of buttons, using a lighter leather - but I'm not sure at what stage it's at.

Not sure. It was made under the old regime, which might have a bearing, and I'm not sure they were totally happy with the design overall, hence Ken's redesign.

Was this strictly an Aero USA offering? I recall seeing it on his website and don't recall seeing it on the main Aero website. Regardless, it does look very cool.

It was available direct from Aero, but Ken pulled it in 2012 as he wasn't fully happy. The one John had was the same length as the original. As memory served, the old team grafted the front design of the original German bike jacket onto a halfbelt style, which differed rather from the original design. I believe Ken was/is working on a reduxed version in a hide such as goat, restoring the double row of buttons.

The one in the op is really quite different in vibe overall, thanks to the added length. I rather like it. Definitely wouldn't size up, fit looks good.
