I think it's cool Chamorro, we can have legitimate disagreements and still be friends.
I must confess, I too pay very close attention to my surroundings and who is within my spaces. I agree with you Edge, since this is all we have to go by then the brush has to be broad. Again, is it unfair? of course it is. The alternative is to stick our heads in the sand and hope all is well. Since we all know that isn't the case, this is the only logical thing we can do. Profiling...geeze, it's become such an unacceptible word!! When I was single, I profiled constantly for the right woman, so I guess I'm a sexist. If profiling automatically equates to racism, then I suppose I'm guilty of that also. But, why does it automatically mean racism? Can't it just be looking at the facts and taking precautions based on those facts? If most burgalries are comitted by white teenage males, then doesn't it make sense to pay attention to them when they are in your house? In the case we are discussing, the fact is that they were committed by young Arab males so doesn't it make sense to offer extra scrutiny? Is that racism or common sense? I guess it depends on our own internal filters and experiences. But then, I've already gone over that.
Mr. K, I do see your point of view, I just don't fully agree with it. I see people getting unfairly branded in many ways on many levels. The political correctness of today often gets in the way of truth unfortunately and the automatic response seems to be "racist" accusation whether or not it is true. I see it similar to a female starting to cry during a discussion. Once the tears start, the argument is over or you are a real bum. It's the female trump card!!!
Thanks for telling me your age. Since I have a son who is going to be 37 soon, forgive me but I do see you as a young man. I wasn't completely comfortable in my own skin until mid 40s and since I can only judge by my own experiences, there ya go.

I just wonder what do you think about my Rants on TIE, If you don?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢t like Ms. Coulter?¢‚Ǩ¬¶ they you just gotta hate me.

True Story?¢‚Ǩ¬¶ I?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢m traveling back from Colorado after a long weekend with my dad. During a lay-over in Chicago I was making conversation with a fellow passenger?¢‚Ǩ¬¶ I was talking to a woman who was from Sweden and she and I were talking about how Americans aren?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢t focused enough on real terrorism the way the Israelis are. She joked about how Political Correctness is going to get more people killed.

When it was time to board the plane?¢‚Ǩ¬¶ the pulled her aside and double-checked her passport. Then they nailed me because I was yapping with her. Did I have a reason to suspect if she was a terrorist, did she say anything that I thought was suspicious?¢‚Ǩ¬¶ was I holding anything back because I was or intended to sleep with her. As this is going on?¢‚Ǩ¬¶ I watch three Arabic men enter the plane with out questioning. Furthermore, they were questioning a gentleman who wore a cap that read ?¢‚Ǩ?ìWWII Veteran?¢‚Ǩ?.

Stop and think about that?¢‚Ǩ¬¶ they let three Arabic men go while questioning a young blond woman from Sweden?¢‚Ǩ¬¶ A New Englander dressed like it?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s 1945?¢‚Ǩ¬¶ and a World War Two Veteran. What?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s wrong with that picture?

Not all Arabs are terrorists?¢‚Ǩ¬¶ but all terrorists have either been Islamic fundamentalists or have ties to the aforementioned.

Sorry to hear you had problems. My wife and I have had to remove our shoes everytime we've had to board a plane. And they just hate my 501's metal buttons. What do they think I've got in there? Reminds me of the Tom Jones album "The Lead and How To Swing It". Maybe it's because of my name. Maybe it's my name plus my wife's not white. Whatever it is, I STILL don't think Arabs should have to go through crap like Ms. Coulter suggests.

Maybe I haven't been clear. I don't think racial profiling absolutely equals racism. But I do believe extreme profiling such as Ms. Coulter suggests does.

Is TIE "The Indy Experience"? Never been there. K

ps: Hey Art, just to be PC, you should have been looking for the perfect "partner." Just kidding.
