Akubra Order

Just got a new order from Akubra the other day. Got my sister the Cooper Peby, very nice hat. I got myself the Coolabah with the croc band. Very nice, and a great look, but the felt is about twice as thick as any of my other Akubras I own and as hard as cardboard. I wonder why? its just a Imperial quality like all my others. Not a bad thing just an observation. Lastly I got my wife a Banjo Paterson, really great looking hat. The point of interest was the card that came with the hat explaining the Heritage

I was curious about the Heritage hats

Thanks for posting this, Johnny. I've been looking at Akubra's "Lightning Ridge" on noggintops.com, and wondering if it would be a good winter hat (well, for the winters we get in Alabama). I'm guessing the denser felt would make it warmer as well as more water-repellent?
