I found a pair of these pretty well discounted, and I like these shoes for reasons I cannot adequately explain, but I've never owned a pair of mocs and I'm not even sure if I would wear them enough to justify the purchase.

I'm thinking they'd be good for the occasional garden party, spirited motoring jaunt, or stroll through the Concorso Italiano; and as fun as all those things are they just don't happen all that often in my life.

For those of you with similar shoes, when and where do you wear them?

Thanks

I have a similar pair of shearling lined mocs that I sometimes use as house slippers in the winter.

Mocs are easily slipped on and good for walking the dog, taking out the garbage, working in a basement, a quick walk to the store, anytime you don't feel like tying a lace.

The unlined version looks good with warm weather wear.

I have a few pairs of penny loafers and I love them and wear them often. However, these shoes would basically just be slippers for me. The lining would probably be too warm for me to wear in any other capacity. The shearling lining would be good to wear without socks as it would be warm and comfy, but it makes no sense to wear them out because there isn't enough shoe there to cover the top of your foot to keep it warm. They would be nice as slippers or to run out real quick to the car or mail box for a few minutes without booting up in the cold. It would be a waste of money for me though.

Do you find the lining gets dirty easily? If so, how do you clean it?
The shearling lining doesn't get terribly dirty but it does get matted down and a bit smelly from foot perspiration. I have shampooed the lining a few times with decent results (odor removed and the nap fluffed up somewhat ), though nowhere near new condition.
