I figured I would post this here in case some of our forum members aren’t aware of Etsy. I’ve only just seen one other photo of this super rare vintage jacket from Levi’s, let alone seeing it for sale. They’re asking a cool $4k, but if you ask me it’s worth it. I would seriously consider dropping that kind of money if it was even remotely close to my size. Whoever buys this will instantly become one of the coolest dudes on the planet! One of the most gorgeous jackets I’ve ever seen and in such good condition! Amazing!

400 USD? Maybe. Just maybe. Actually, now that I'm thinking about it.. nah.. if this was on ebay, I'd bid 150 tops. 4k USD? No way.

Lol $150 huh?...ok. IMO owning a piece of Levi’s history that’s this rare has no price. I can’t say I’ve seen a more beautiful jacket than this

Nice jacket, but no chance of selling this for $4k.

You’re probably right. They don’t have much info on it. I mean, they’re advertising it as the original skyfall jacket, which is incorrect. Two completely different looking jackets. Plus it’s on Etsy!

Maybe @tmitchell59 would chime in but the most I have seen Levi’s from the 1940s or so go is around half that price. In great condition. Is it that old?

You sure you aren’t the seller? ;)

I’m guessing this is an Repop from LVC.
There is zero tarnishing on any zipper, I would expect to see some discoloration especially on the chest pocket zip.
But I’m no expert so who knows.. I do like it

Lol no, no connection. The seller is out of Sacramento, I’m in Philly.

Based on just zippers, I would say 40’s. I could be completely wrong.

Interesting..where have you seen vintage Levi’s leathers for sale? I’ve never seen an original Levi’s leather jacket ever go on sale. Seen plenty of other vintage Levi’s stuff such as jeans, shirts, jeans jackets etc...

I’m no expert by any means, but I can confidently say this is not a repro

TJMaxx. Kidding. I have seen prices quoted in vintage leather jacket books and a variety of magazines. Re reading my previous quote I can see where I was unclear. Also, I have seen “vintage levi’s” on eBay but I never looked at the auctions so can’t speak to authenticity. They aren’t my thing.

It looks to be an original Levi's goatskin jacket from the late 30s in excellent condition.

It looks very similar to the iconic Sears Hercules from this era.

The nicest Hercules I've seen sell was an excellent condition at least size 42, sold for $2,400. I was trying to get the money together when it sold. It was horsehide.

I know nothing about Levi collectors, so no idea if they have an interest in this.

I wonder what it'd be worth without the Levi connection?

I've seen Levi's denim sell for over 20.000$ on Ebay so I don't know why the right collector wouldn't pay 4000$ for this jacket.

If the Levi's archive don't have a copy of this one I'm sure they'll buy it.

This shows how amazing goatskin is.

The condition alone makes me think this has to be a repro. The label too. I can't see how on earth this is anything but LVC repro. Which necessarily destroys the value/ sale price. If this is genuine 30's I'm a 200 year old man.

Looks legit to me. All the vintage goatskin jackets ive seen look similar in condition. Goat is the most durable leather out there. Usually takes decades to get good grain.

The goat looks old but the hardware new. Also, the stitching looks really neat. If this is an original it’s a great piece. If a repro, a good one.

For 400 it's a nice jacket according to its near mint condition, but 4k looks like madness.

Its a really nice jacket for sure but at USD$4k!!! either I'd be afraid to wear it if it is original and if it isn't, I'd feel like a mug for paying so much.

Think I'll give this one a miss ;)

Interesting thread that hits home with me. By accident I have built a small, but interesting goathide jacket collection. Four or five jackets. Several probably made in the bay area where this Levi was probably made. I use probably because it is guess work on my part. Levi is from the bay area which was home to Block, Ralphs Pugh. Both of those makers could have made this jacket.

Labels do add value. A Block Bilt or Ralphs Pugh label would be even more interesting to me than the Levi label. Take away the label and you still have a nice 30s half-belt.

The 4K price sorta clouds the jacket. No one sees it worth that, so people don't see it worth much?

Vintage jackets from the 30s can be in this nice condition. This Californian is near mint. Is it original or reproduction?

I see these goats as more interesting than the Levi. All are 42/44 sized.
