I would like to see an animated series if they did it well. I believe it could be done well. The illustrations above are nice, similar in style to Batman: The Animated Series, which showed just how well a "cartoon" can be done. It doesn't have to be dumbed down for the kids. There was also an X-Men cartoon some years ago that covered a lot of very adult themes very well. I would love to see it done to a specific era, that being the period 1939-57: Indy's war years, and the early Cold War period, taking us right up to whatever it was he was doing when he was captured by the Soviets, thus bridging the gap between Crusade and Skull. The style above would work, or - better yet - motion capture animation techniques as used in the Beowulf film featuring Ray Winstone. This would also allow Harrison Ford to provide the voice....

Where's Mutt & the motorcycle?

Different timeframe than depicted here, presumably. From right, we have Marcus Brodie who appears in Raiders (1936) and Last Crusade (1938). Henry Jones Senior appears in Last Crusade, and on the let of the picture, Short Round, who appears in Temple of Doom, set in 1935. Presumably somewhere between the events of Temple and Raiders Shorty has been rehomed in an orphanage somewhere, as he effectively disappears from the story at that point. As does Willie Scott, with whom the romance must have fizzled out some time before Indy meets Marion again in 1936 (Raiders. Yeah, I know that the order they made these in probably did affect continuity, but it's there...). As to Mutt.... Well.... If this represents, loosely speaking, Indy across the 1935-38 period... Indy ran out on marrying Marion a week or so before the wedding, if memory serves, when she was already pregnant with Mutt. This must have happened at some point between the end of Raiders in 1936 and the beginning of Lost Crusade in 1938. So depending on what point in time this is 1935-38 (Henry Jones Senior and Marcus being very much alive in 1935, even if not seen on screen), Mutt is either not even a twinkle in his daddy's eye, a baby, or somewhere in between.... The motorcycle is twenty years off yet.... ;) Either way, he can't appear in any Indy series set before 1957 as they don't first meet until then.

Bruce Timm Animated design is popular.
His current project is The Dark Knight Return's Frank Miller's graphic Novel.
