Is there a reason leather trousers are normally horse or steer, aside from them being accessible and familiar to everyone? I would think goat would be ideal for leather jeans.

Tokyo and Kyoto mostly. But Tokyo is huge, take a lot of time to go places
Ueno Ameyoko shopping street for repros, vintage originals at Koenji and a bit of both at Harajuku in Tokyo.
While at Koenji, do pay a visit to Gorilla
https://gorilla-tokyo.com/
You can find brands like Lewis Leather, Vanson, Aero, Lost Worlds etc at Ueno in addition to the Japanese brands.

Previous thread on it
https://www.thefedoralounge.com/threads/leather-jacket-stores-in-tokyo.98985/

If you have a particular shop you wanna visit, do check their day off online.
For example, Lewis Leather Tokyo is closed on Wed

While in Kyoto, I would suggest you focus on sight-seeing, You'd pretty much have to be on foot most of the time in Kyoto looking at temples, castle and historic places. I'd not myself spend time and energy on shopping there.

They're not really my thing so I haven't looked at them very hard but there are quite a few Deerskin leather pants by Flat Head up on Yahoo.

New cuffs are an easy fix and can be done invisibly as no to stitch through the leather.
Very hard however to get a perfect color match to waistband with new. Aero can do and have various shades to try get a good match. If you wanted exact match both cuffs and waistband could be done together.
Drop me a mail denny@aeroleatherclothing.com

I have a question about taking in (narrowing) sleeves. I have a jacket that I got for next to nothing, so I am willing to spend some $$$ on sleeves if it can be done. The sleeves are super wide, I swear I have pants that have similar measurements (sleeve flattened for measurement): 10.5 inches at armhole, 8.5 inches at the elbow, and 6.25 inches at the cuff (there is no cuff proper or zipper, just folded over leather). Stove pipes. I know I can have them tapered from elbow to cuff, should be no problem. But can I make them more narrow at the elbow too? I would like to take off about 1.5" at elbow lying flat, or in other words 3" off circumference, to 7" flat. I hate wide sleeves. I would like to start the taper right at the armhole and continue through the elbow and all the way to the cuff. Is such an alteration even possible? Calling all experts. Thanks.

Carrie from Thurston’s narrowed the whole sleeve from a Vanson I bought through them. Came out really nice. I’m sure Dena and Johnson’s can also do it.

I just received a Walter Dyer jacket from eBay. It's made from a super-supple leather and seems to be a pretty good fit for me, but I'm noticing a weird aesthetic issue with the gusset behind the shoulder, particularly on the right side. That extra material wants to poke out and not tuck neatly in.

Is there anything I can do to get it to lay down and stay tucked away?

Here's the pokey-outy bit:

And here's me highlighting it:

And here's what I'd like it to do to play nice and not bulge out like a big wart, but moment I put it on, it sticks out again.

@Marc mndt fixed this issue on one of his jackets recently. Posted the process in another thread. The Don’t try this at home thread I believe.
