I own the Fred Rice Film & Audio Archive.

Collection includes 6 boxes of Film and Audio Recordings from the personal library of Fred Rice, who worked for Capital Records as a (Sub) Contractor during the 1960's.

It appears that my collection contains the film reels of 'Appaloosa', a Western Heritage Award Winner from the National Cowboy Hall of Fame for an outstanding western documentary film narrated by actor Dale Robertson that Fred produced.

I've spent various hours over the course of 1-2 years trying to find someone to consign the collection to. I have museum archives willing to accept it, but I'd really like to sell it.

Can anyone point me to resources to consign the project to and who can determine value of these items? If you do this professionally, feel free to post to this thread.

Thanks for any help.

Someone in this group might be able to help you. They have a list-serve you can subscribe to and post to:

AMIA-L is an e-mail discussion list sponsored by the Association of Moving Image Archivists (AMIA). It is intended to facilitate communication among AMIA members and professionals in related disciplines interested in issues relevant to the association, to archival issues involving all aspects of moving image materials and moving image archives, and to any related technologies or special interests of the profession. Appropriate postings from AMIA non-members are welcome, and subscription to AMIA-L is open to the public.

It all sounds very technical, but people do post to the group seeking particular materials for projects they're working on, and they're often referred to collectors and archivists. Maybe it's worth a try.

Sorry to write you on this thread, but your PM box is full & I wanted see if I could get ahold of you...

I love to buy your 2 piece brown suit with the belt if you still have it. Will you take trade for some hats? (I've been slacking on sending you pictures...I'm sorry...I will get some out either way, this week)...I had camera issues.

Thanks,
Benny
