B-3 Rank Tabs - look and feel?

How did rank tabs for B-3's get sewn on? Were they sterling or cloth? Do we have any pictures or is BOB a good reference? I'm thinking Captain Sobel.

Actually nevermind. I think it's disrespectful for me to do that. I'll get some drab green Canadian flags

Although these were not always available and I have seen ones painted on and metal uniform insignia used as well.

I've seen painted, sewn, and pins.

Rank insignia on B-3s were usually made of leather and were machine stitched. I have lieutenants bars on my original 1942 B-3 which were applied in this way and all the others I have seen were done in the same way.
