Gentlemen...keep it clean
What? You're the guy who said wearing a leather jacket in a sauna might be fun... does the wife know???
Wear it and wear it often. I don't think the weathering from a sauna will compare to the weathering from frequent wear.
My wife is a tiny lady. I had her wear the jacket once and she about tipped over
My wife does in fact know, and was appropriately horrified.
In any case, given the advice here I thought better against the plan. Just using a good old spray bottle to soften some areas gently, as suggested.
Pics (or it didn't happen)
Excellent choice. Although I do like to use some old baseball glove techniques to make a jacket a little softer at the corners, there's no real substitute for spending the time slowly breaking a jacket in through regular wear. At first it seems stiff and unrelenting but you'll suddenly realize one day that you have a very comfortable, custom-fitted jacket. Think of it in terms of the difference in a cake you bake in the oven at 350 for 40 minutes and one of those God-awful microwave cakes that pops out in 90 seconds.
