A catalogue for the Jerry O'Mahony diner company, with pictures of their prewar product and sales pitch. Interesting how long some of the older styles hung around, and how they were built side by side with the much more modern, streamline models.

This is and O'Mahony from the era advertised as it appears now. As you can see, it has outlasted its estimated 30 year lifespan.

This is really wonderful. Is anyone manufacturing such a thing now? The cost today would probably make it impossible.

Wow, thanks for showing us this!

Can you imagine what it would cost to build a place with an interior like that? With the tile and woodwork, with those massive stone counters?

I'd say the closest in style now, exterior-wise would be a new company out of Alberta, Prairie City Diners.

There's also Kullman, who have been in business since 1928, though stylistically, they're quite different now.

We never had those here, only pie carts, does the company still exist?

Those pie carts look pretty similar to the lunch wagons that diners descended from.

Jerry O'Mahony Inc. went out of business in 1956, though their inventory was purchased, and operated as Mahony diners for a year or so.

Thanks for the post!

Where'd you find that?
I managed to snag that on ebay. It always amazes me when such things pop up.

There's another great shot of the factory- HERE
