Yes folks, in a matter of days, JUPITER & SATURN will be so aligned as to form a "double planet" when seen from EARTH, such a conjunction hasn't been observed since 1226. So keep your peepers peeled towards the S.W. just after sunset. https://www.ecowatch.com/jupiter-sa...on-2649235045.html?rebelltitem=1#rebelltitem1 https://www.cbsnews.com/news/jupiter-saturn-double-planet-great-conjunction-december-21/
Um, you might want to reconsider that term "dp." It has another meaning in the more scabrous reaches of the Internet (As a crime novelist, I have to keep up with these less than respectable corners of the Internet). Scout's honor. It's strictly professional.
Scabrous ? Nonsense ! There's nothing scabrous about a director of photography. Just think how much a film or video can have more penetrating insights with a good dp.
He meant "Deliberate Plagiarism", which is indeed scabrous. As a crime novelist, it is not surprising that Inkstained is familiar with the concept and rightly guards against it and gives us warning. Thank you, Inky. Regarding the Double Planet phenomenon, whats the old (biblical?) quote about omens in the heavens, or something like that?
My old camera ain't the best for taking long shots like this but I believe these two dots are Jupiter & Saturn working their way to forming a double planet. Taken just after sunset a few days ago, S.S.W.
Nice photo. Unfortunately, where I live, we have been under a long-lasting blanket of gray clouds for (what seems like) several weeks. Ugh. I’d love some clear night sky to check this out.
I had read about this, and the night before they were supposed to form the "double planet" saw them in the night sky. The next night (i.e. the night of the main event) I had forgotten all about it and by the time I remembered they, and the moon, were long gone.
Yes! I am not shocked that Inkstained is familiar with the concept and rightly guards against it and gives us warning. Thank you, Inky.
It's ok, this DP is obviously referring to the Discipline of Psionics. "In American science fiction of the 1950s and '60s, psionics was a proposed discipline that applied principles of engineering, especially electronics, to the study and employment of paranormal or psychic phenomena such as telepathy and psychokinesis." No double entendre intended.
