Yeah, take a look at the article in the link again; as it mostly relies on the tags to date the item. I assume these jackets have tags, yes?

Quite a long-running style. Hunch is late 40s-50s, but labels would help.

If the label has the wool ball of yarn symbol, it's probably from '64 and later.

I did suspect the changing pocket detail goes for both, jackets and shirt. Same with the labels.

Oh, they aren't yours? OK, the first one is from the late 1950s or 1960s. See the shape of the collar? That's a dead give-away.

The second one is from the late 1940s to mid 1950s. Again, the collar shape gives it away.
