I'm not sure one of these ever went on Safari, but I always thought they looked the part:
This one just came up on Craigslist near me, for only $1500, and it's already got the same-series engine swapped in as my DD Ford Falcon, so fleet maintenance would be easier. It's almost painful not to buy it.
I just recently acquired this at an auction. Until I can hang in on a safari vehicle I'll just hang it in the guest room.
A funny thing about The Grapes of Wrath, old Joe Stalin bought a bunch of copies of the movie, to show how bad it was in America! They showed it exactly one time, all the Soviets came out of the theater saying the same thing, "even the poorest American has an automobile!"Very nice! I always picture those on old Grapes of Wrath style jalopies crawling across the Southwestern Desert on Route 66; but the Coleman logo on yours makes me picture a near-new '35 Ford woodie in a Northern Michigan hunting camp.
