Super find Brent. Bravissimo!
Thank you, Daniele. Unfortunately it’s too small for either of us.
Super find Brent. Bravissimo!
That is quite the find, Brent. I found something similar in winered once. As Steve pointed out: intended for the south American market as well.A great velour that I couldn’t pass up. 5 1/2” open crown and a bound brim width of 3 3/8 measured after the pencil curl. Size is 57cm or 7 1/8 US. Marked Genuine Fur Guama on the sweatband and on the liner. I’ll be patient waiting for Steve @mayserwegener to tell me more.

Brent, It was a (still might be) popular hat style with Venezuelan cowboys. I am not sure if Tonak still makes them.Thank you for this, Steve. I would never have connected the fruit and the felt. I really like the style and wish it was in my size. It’s not an everyday hat, but it’s one that would make me smile.
Brent, Super! That is a great looking heavier weight Velour. I need to visit Tonak (again) in 2023.Selentino Galaxy in navy blue velour finish. Size is 62cm or 7 ¾ US. The raw edge brim is 2 ⅝” wide and the open crown is approximately 5 ½ inches. Great hand to the substantial felt. It will require steam to hold a shape.

Judging by the liner that must be an early Tonak. They still had the Hückel know how then. This hat came in a box of ten that I’m beginning to sort through. It’s approximately a size 6 ⅝ so very small. Nice felt. The liner is very faded and there isn’t anything behind the sweatband.
