When I was in my teens I was picking up the family dry cleaning, one day. Suddenly I heard a loud "pssssh", like compressed air coming out of a tank. I looked and saw something I don't remember before or since. A man's hat was stretched over a devise that blew the crown up like a balloon. It then relaxed, and the cycle repeated several times. The shop keeper said it was steam, and that it cleaned the hat and made it easier to shape. Did anybody else ever see or operate that steam machine?
