    Hello all,

Ordered these for my girlfriend and I think they may be fake. They seem rather cheap and the leather and soles don’t resemble any England Docs I’ve seen, but these are claimed to be deadstock from the 90s so who knows what went on back then...zips are even “ykk”. What do you guys/gals think?

    Strange light composite sole:

    Weird “mall” looking inner tag:

    Suspect stitching+ more sole:

    Weird interior markings:

But she looks cool in them:

    They could well be genuine.

My daughter was in university in Leicester back around then and she frequently took me and my credit card to the nearby Griggs factory where the Docs were made. They had a seconds shop there and there were all sorts of weird and wonderful looking shoes and boots that hadn't made the light of day!

I'm pretty sure they're legit, they're just not from the same line the classic styles, ie 1460, are from. They're probably a little newer than the 90s as well.

Thanks for the replies guys. I too thought perhaps they may have been from a different series. They really are not up to snuff with the classic line, but she likes them and that’s all that matters. Thanks again.

Could they be from Autumn/Winter 2004?

    Inferring from the label inside.

Interesting, not seen any on there (though I find Etsy's search facility so limited, I only use it for specific things). I've seen a lot of what seem to be perfectly legit prototypes / samples and end of lines on eBay, though.
