Finnish Lapp Boots - Resole Question

This is probably going to be a stretch but...

I have a pair of Finnish Lapp boots that are ready for a resole job. Given the shape of them at the toe, has anyone else had this work done, and if so are there any recommendations you can give? I understand that I could probably get a square toed shoe sole put on, but I figured that I could ask here and see.

I would either check with my local cobbler or put an inquiry to the company.

Hienot saappaat! Excellent looking boots. My grandfathers had similar styled pairs sent to them from relatives in northern Finland. I recall my Mom's dad getting them re-soled at a local cobbler. He boldly had aggressive treads put on them.

FYI: Here is an article about a factory and the tools used to make them.

Here is a pic of two seal hunters in 1899 wearing boot similar to both of my Grandfather's.

Thanks!

I got these new, direct from Finland of course, after being put in touch with a place that sold them. After wearing them several years they have worn smooth and in need of new heels and soles.

Aggressive treads are what I am seeking, particularly because of the area I live in (mud, snow, street pavement, etc.).

I will see what I can get done.:)
