On a Rudy Vallee show from the mid-1930s, "Lewis and Dody" sing a humorous, but (deliberately) monotonous song which COULD be called "Hello, Hello..... Hello Hello Hello." They supposedly had 92 verses for it. A sample:
While walking in the lane
We saw
A man
Who must have been insane
He'd hit his head with a hammer
Until he'd almost drop
He said I like it
'Cause it feels
So good each time I stop
(You may well have heard that joke elsewhere. That was one of several verses which covered familiar comic territory.)
Anyone know about them, or more about the song? There's a part I don't get-- possibly a Yiddish phrase.
Things get confusing because there was an act called Gene and Glenn pictured on a CANCO tin, with the title "Hello Hello Hello!" but I doubt it's the same song. And later, there were DNA researchers by the name of Lewis and DOTY....
I did find a caricature drawing of Lewis and Dody on eBay.
