Full Length Heavy Serge Navy Overcoats: WWII Vintage?

This morning I happened upon a curious pair of vintage, double breasted overcoats. They are full length, very, very heavy heathered navy blue serge, with what appear to be WWII vintage buttons and naval sleeve insignias. They are in absolutely immaculate condition with no tears, moth holes, nibbles, etc. Someone took meticulous care of these things. I bought them purely out of curiosity, as I can't see myself wearing them. Anyone know anything about these kind of garments? Made by a Pembroke, Inc. Thanks.

Sound like US Navy bridge coats, except today they're shorter and have shoulderboards.

Heathered serge? Do you mean multicolored, like the Army field serge uniforms?

Pictures would definitely help ID them, especially of labels and such.
