So many of these appeals are out there for personal projects, it's hard to take them seriously anymore.

Well, to be honest Kickstarter is full of not so great projects. I just found it curious as it seems to be for the Bonvington museum if I didn't read wrong.

I'm a bit on the fence with these kind of projects actually.

Privately owned in a collection in the IOW but I think their aim is to have it up and running for Tankfest '17 which is at Bovington.

For those that don't know, this was a SP gun prototype based around the Centurion chassis but abandoned in favour of the Abbott SPG.
