I can no longer do this dress up so it's time to pass it on!

I want to show you there is hope using eBay. Last month I found one in my size, 41" chest, on eBay UK. It didn't look great in the photo, It cost a LOT to ship it to the US, and I had a tailor take in the sleeves at the shoulders and sew several moth holes (all near the bottom and behind the overlap of the double breast). Then I had it professionally dry cleaned and polished up the buttons. I think you can tell which photo is the before and after. After all the work I spent about $450. This coat is made by Gieves Ltd. 1946. It is an Officers coat with Squadron Leader epaulettes.



If this had soft epaulettes, it would be just like what you see on Capt. Jack. As far as I can tell, after the war this style was made with soft epaulettes only for non-coms out of a slightly coarser wool.
