Dont remember your history with Ardbeg but you should like the Ten. It’s smoky so Etsuko might prefer it OTR or with a few drops of water.
I’ve definitely had it before, but perhaps only a couple of times at a bar. We were planning on a bottle of Caol Ila, but the Ardbeg was about ¥800 cheaper, so that’s what we went for. Etsuko doesn’t mind a bit of smoke. She sometimes struggles with the high proof bottles, though not so with the Old Grand-dad 114 we tried recently.

After what seems like months of unsuccessful shopping here in deep East Texas, I finally found someone who carries one of my favorites on my trip down Houston way last friday... Celis White out of Austin (Belgan style Whitbier) Reminds me of Blue Moon but with more flavor WHIPPET AND WHITE!

Good luck To KC teams.... My Texans pulled it out Sunday, but my Astros kinda let me down and ended the season too quickly this year!
Thanks! I thought the Yankees would probably take the series 3-1. Saturday night might have been the Royals best chance to take a game but it wasn’t to be at 6 - 5. If they don’t win tonight I doubt they can take 3 in a row, so might end up with the Yankees taking the series 3 - 0.

Yesterday I continued to enjoy the Founders Octoberfest. Tonight I started with a Omni Brewing Pilsner and am sitting outside and enjoying the last of a bottle of Ardbeg Wee Beastie. The Ardbeg core range of Ten, Ugiadahl, An Oa, Corryvreckan are reference points. The current manic whiskey world has all kinds of comments on the fancy releases and current versions of the core (like the discussions of how Ugiadahl current versions do not stand up to old versions) that I try hard to ignore. I like the smoky, briny, beach bonfire and meat-drippings experience of my Ardbeg experience. My shelf currently has Ten, Ugiadahl and Wee Beastie on it. I am a man with a dram and I am liking the Wee Beastie tonight.

Hanging out on the patio this afternoon under my oldest Whippett, an oversized rum punch, and a 70 yr old Peterson pipe ( doing a scientific test of several different tobaccos). I like some newer pipes, but in my humble opinion, its really hard to find a better smokng pipe than Pre Repblic of Ireland Peterson pipes ( 1948 or earlier) and any Dunhill before the 50s ( restoring old pipes is almost as much fun as old hats!)

Doctor took me off my feet for the week after a skin graft on the foot so Ive been kicking back reading, smoking and enbibing. ( Bloody Marys, Old Fashioneds, and Rum Punches) Yesterday I finished re reading Herman Wouk's "Dont Stop the Carnival" for about the 15th time ( one of my favorite books of all times due to a rather long history with the Caymans, US Virgin Islands and British Virgin Islands ) and today I dove into my collection of John MacDonald "Travis McGee" novels ( Kind of hoping the hurricane blows Florida back the "Old Florida"... less Disney, fewer Condos, and a bunch less mobile homes)

Life is good when you slow down and enjoy it!

Arriving home yesterday I enjoyed the afternoon and evening sipping a Inbound Brew Co. Gose beer and a Surley Supreme. This morning I sipped a Brauhause Na. A non-alcoholic beer with that tastes bready, small bit of hops and crisp. Actually tasty. It still lacks that "something." Enjoyable, but I believe that the 6 pack will last a good time in my beer fridge. (I am sipping as I need to use a chainsaw on a fallen tree in a bit and want all my wits about me. The tree is leaning against another and will take some effort to drop and cut up.)

Celebrating a successful ribbon replacement on one of the ebay Sovereigns. Nice big ol Bourbon and cranberry juice with orange bitters, cherries on the bottom, orange peel, and my big round ice cubes. Thinking I may break out one of the pipes and some Cult Blood Red Moon Cherry aromatic tobacco while Im out here!
