Help Identifying a Navy Jakcet circa 1953, Burton Island Helicopter Crew

Saw this on navypilotoverseas.wordpress.com and noticed that the gentleman in the top row, second from the right, is not wearing a G1 but some alternate version it seems. Anybody know if that was some form of military jacket or just a private jacket worn on duty perhaps? I've seen Langlitz jackets that look like it, but I don't even think he has knits on that thing from what I could see. Any help or just discussion would be much appreciated. Thanks.

It is quite difficult to say because picture quality is not good but It could be a nylon B-15 like this one;

When pictured in black and white it can be mistaken for a leather jacket.

I don't think it is a B-15. When I get some time, I will get to work on the ID.
