I’m not necessarily new to leather jackets having bought 2 Harley cowskin jackets years ago when I still rode. Since then I’ve acquired a Schott 530 but am looking for something lighter weight to wear here in Tucson. I suppose lambskin might be appropriate for the warmer climate here but at a loss for which brand to look at. Naturally there aren’t leather shops here locally so will have to order online. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

For a CR style lightweight jacket, Kehoe is what you’re looking for. Steerhide. It can be had for less than $200 on eBay.

Brooks gold label and Harley Davidson AMF, too. Brooks made HD stuff at that time. Both are also pretty affordable, sub-$100 sometimes. Can’t go wrong. If you don’t like them, pretty easy to offload and recoup.

Maybe look for a suede trucker.
You can find many examples from different makers pretty affordably on ebay.
A2's in goat are quite lightweight too, but they do have the cuffs, so I'm not sure how that would work out.

Re lightweight leather jackets...

Apparently nobody recommends Wested anymore, but I've been wearing one of their lambskin Raiders jackets - custom version with all-cotton lining - as my "summer weight" leather for over 20 years and it's held up great. No wool knits on the sleeve and bottom, comfy cotton lining and lightweight lambskin. Not as heavy/warm as my goatskin and horsehide A-2s or my cowhide Schott 654.

They cost a hundred dollars more now, but I suspect that they're still a great value, ESPECIALLY if you need custom sizing. Nice choice of options of hides/linings/features too.

I like suede and also trucker jackets so that would be a winning combo. I see where Banana Republic has some nice suede truckers as well as Reiss but Reiss quality is down the last couple of years? I haven’t seen used ones on ebay, I don’t mind buying new, but I’ll have another look.

There has been some traffic recently on TFL about old 90s Gap truckers. A number of Loungers seem to be praising them right now.

Here's a short writeup I did on mine back in August.

I can wear mine (currently in Alabama) up to about 90 degrees Fahrenheit and it actually gets a lot of compliments. Best of all, they are cheap: I got mine off eBay for $105 USD including tax and shipping.

That Indy jacket is very nice looking. To think he went through all those stunts with a lambskin jacket? Amazing. Coming from England I presume there are tariffs involved, it doesn't say. Nice price otherwise.

Just looked at ebay and they have several suede truckers. Just have to find the right color & size. Thanks!
