Highwayman with Shoulder Gussets

Ordered a brown CXL Steerhide Highwayman, size 40 with Carrie's help at Insurrection.
She recommended shoulder gussets as my current size 40 jacket felt a bit tight in the shoulders.
She recommended this instead of upsizing the top half of the jacket so as not to change the basic shape of the jacket.
She also recommended tapering the jacket to a size 38 at the waist to accomodate my "drop" from chest to waist.
These seemed like great ideas and I was surprised that Aero never recommended them to me before with my earlier jackets.
Seems like Carrie knows her stuff!
Anyway, I've never seen a Highwayman with gusseted shoulders and was wondering if anybody out there has one?
If so, I'd like to see pix please.
Any other comments?
The jacket is scheduled for Jan production so I hope to have it for late winter wear.
Later all.

OneEyeMan, I've seen a few floating around. Few links with Highwayman w/ shoulder gussets;

...and here's one in full motion (sorry I'm posting it again, but it's relevant :D )

They had a special production run of them with gussets, I think it was for an Ace Cafe or something like that I don't know... In any case, it's a shame they're not on the Moto Highwayman by default. Wouldn't harm the jacket in any way.

A REALLY practical adjustment if you want greater freedom of movement of the arms for say riding a bike .... has no real downside other than a little more bulk in the armpit but not really that noticeable.

A GREAT solution to your fitting issues .... keep us informed and remember the pics when it arrives :)

I agree with all of the above. Carrie knows what she's doing and it adds some nice detail to the back of the jacket also. Hope it turns out great for you and look forward to seeing pics - brown steer CXL is a beautiful leather.

OEM, I nearly did the same thing but went up a size instead. The highwayman seems to have a tight-ish upper back in any size from the ones I tried on. I was originally sent a 38 as a fit jacket. It was skin tight and I needed help to take it off. I was afraid of feeling too restricted while driving and shifting. A 40 tapered to a 38 with shoulder gussets would have been ideal.

I had the same mod done to my half belt. It ads a small amount of extra flexibility, and I really like the detail. Some people want the back to be simple, in size 44 I thought it needed a little extra character. I would definitely do it again.

I flat out refuse to wear a jacket without shoulder gussets or full action back. :D

It looks cool and it is a very handy feature. They're barely noticeable on Aero's jackets, though...
