Just realised that I've been a member here 16 Years this month Where on earth has the time gone folks? Here's to another sweet 16!! Regards, PADDY.
16 years? Impressive. And thank you for your service! That is a very good question. I had to look at my profile page. I’ve been a member since August 2015. Before that I was a lurker. I wonder what made me make the jump? The FL has proved to be a keeper. The subjects are right up my alley and this is possibly the ONLY place on the Internet Where the membership is civil, well informed, intelligent and with a sense of humor. (No doubt, I exaggerate. But only a little.) As I said, it’s a keeper.
It'll be sixteen years for me in the fall. That's a lot of jackets and hats ago. Lots of film and TV (and so on) discussions too.
The records indicate I've been a member here since February 7, 2010, so a little over 10 years officially and about a year or so prior to that in lurker mode.
Yes, great to see Captain Paddy on the boards! Paddy was one of the first TFLers I met IRL. Good to see you alive and kicking! According to my profile I joined on 20 June 2007, so I'm just into being a teenager on these pages. I first lurked from about March that year. I was putting together a Joker costume for a burlesque night, and a search for "high waisted morning trousers" on google stumvled me here. I was already becoming interested in dressing more rockabilly (from a psychobilly stage; the usual progression when old punks get too fat for bondage trousers, ha...), and the burlesque club some friends ran inspired an interest in the more 30s/40s stuff.
16 years for this guy too. As a result of the Lounge I’ve met good people who’ve not only broadened my love of vintage but life experiences too. Here’s to another 16
I think the only other site I've ben on longer is Facebook, though I'd have to check, as I jonied both around the same time.
January 2007. 13 years. Glad to see the revival of message boards!!! FB: September 2007. Pivotal time for social media.
