Two long-sought-after pieces finally on their way to supplement my rack:

-Lewis Flying Dominator, L
-Freewheelers Brakeman, 44

I also have a Lewis Corsair in production.

The first two should be with me this week, the Corsair takes a bit longer. Fingers crossed everything goes smoothly.

Rip just messaged me that the Corsair is already on its way. That makes the on-going one the busiest week for me so far in this front.

Langlitz Columbia finally arrived today!

First impression- they nailed it!

I’ll have to figure out where I like the waist laces, but other than that it just needs some use and abuse. Leather is quite stiff and so are the zippers. Movement is easy due to the sorta oversized top end. @Carlos840 was right about doing yoga in it, and mine isn’t even broken in! See below for demonstration at the expense of my dignity :D

This is a standard Columbia modified with no action back and square cut back bottom.

Here are some terrible pics, I’ll aim for a more complete review post down the line.

Jacket looks amazing. Nice leather and the length is perfect! My only gripe would be the sleeves. Those are some canons!

Thank y’all for the kind responses. I’ll admit I’m not sure about how big the top end is? It’s a pretty big chest measurement for me, along with those big arms.

Here are some better quality outdoor pics I took (along with this hat I got too, really like it!). Is concern over the area circled in red nitpicking or something I should bring to Scott?

Maybe an inside should pad would fill out the shoulder area and pull out the creases. I am not an expert. I would ask Langlizt for their suggestions

It’s a great jacket, and the fit is too good to really worry!

I totally see your point about the excess fabric in the circled area. It may well be due to the huge armholes more than the P2P. I have a similar issue with my Simmons Bilt. I use it as one of my rare(ish) jackets for layering with a more heavy sweater, and the issue immediately goes away.

What a beautiful Columbia! I think it looks great and I think that some extra room up top is necessary to allow for movement, especially without the action back.
Only you can decide what is too much room for you and so I think you should wear the hell out of it for a couple weeks and see if it settles down and molds to your shape. I am almost positive that this is what Langlitz is going to recommend as well. That is what they told me when my first Columbia came out a bit too tight and I followed their guidance. In the end I did choose a remake and they lived up to their guarantee 100%.

Typical Langlitz pattern that hasn't changed in decades, with the massive upper arms that can can seem too much. As others pointed out, the apparent excess room in the chess allows for movement. You should get used to it with wear. It looks pretty good on you, especially the length, which is perfect. I would tighten those side laces.

I think you and I are the same size. What is the P2P on that one? 23.5"? I also think that's how these jackets are suppose to fit. It looks like a jacket that is made for you. I am jealous and cant wait to get my Langlitz. You actually might be one of the first ones getting a 75 anniversary label, check with them. They should really number these for the special year.

Thanks man!

Yeah it’s 23” ptp against my 41” (20.5”) chest, which is the biggest of any jacket that I have.

The sleeve and body length are both spot on in my opinion, more evidence supporting everyone saying that this is the expected fit / look.

I’m planning on sending a thanks email to Scott with some fit pics included and leave it at that.

It feels very comfortable to wear. If day 1 is always the worst-looking and feeling, this one will be something special down the line.

Langlitz jackets are just kind of round. I think that’s just the way it is. With the exception of a few models in their line up, the overall shape is a bit of an oval. Preferable or not…It’s just different than more fitted styles. I’ll be totally honest and say that if that were mine, I would return it for an alteration or remake. If anything the jacket will become looser feeling and looking as it softens and drapes. I have never seen a jacket that is too large shrink to fit when broken in. I would say you should expect the opposite.

I think it looks great on you Mr. Frown. Congratz on the jacket. I have come to find that Looser/roomier jackets work better for me. I definitely don't have the physic of you and some of the others on here, I need a little more room for everything to get situated. lol. Some guys can pull off skinny jeans and tapered cut/low rise denim, I need the full thigh/relaxed fit. Like you said, it is very comfy and you can do yoga in it, if you start going tighter, you might lose some comfort and mobility.

Getting me excited for my Langlitz. Took me about 3 custom Langlitz jackets to dial in the fit. I kept trying and did not give up and glad I didnt. May I ask what the back length is and your height? Been going back and forth dipped vs straight cut bottom back. Your length looks really great!

3rd from Langlitz? One of the reasons I’ve avoided the temptation with them and ordering a sidewinder is they seem to miss/ oversize as a rule, rather than the exception.
