Italian RUBIO Hat. 1930s, Overwelt, Heavy Felt $35

Though I don't find much about the hat maker Rubio, it seems from other sales here that they were made in the 30s in Italy. The three seen, including this one, are all the same shape, style, same ribbon, brim treatment, etc. And all three have had a pin at the front, and it seems likely they were produced under Fascist government requirements of some kind..

Chocolate brown hat, with a maker that gets little attention here. This is a heavyweight felt.

Liner and sweatband in good shape, ribbon is wide and basted on, with a bit of damage to the front due to the pin which has long since been removed.
A Fedora Lounge Classified listing from 2010 for a similar hat by Rubio says the hat had a pin with a pro-Mussolini slogan on it. Likely one like this, from 1936:

An overall nice, rather scarce hat with an interesting history.
