This belonged to a friend's dad. His dad served in Hamburg during the Korean War and in the South Pacific in World War II. Any idea from which stint this uniform dates? Thanks!

Not WW-II, but possibly pre/early Korean War period. The unit patch is U.S. Army Fifth Corps (V Corps), which was in Europe/Germany during WW-II/post-war/1950s. According to what I have read, these very unpopular small chevrons were used from 1948-1951 (and for a period after 1951 on female uniforms only). Blue stripes on gold background = combat units; gold stripes on blue background = non-combat units.
