I was watching that Cavanagh, but decided I couldn't justify bidding on it since it's so close in style to my everyday Resistol. Looks like a great hat though, congrats and make sure you post some photos when it arrives.

That hardeman is a beautiful hat- and it definitely has a wider brim than 2". I'd say the hat is most likely from the '30s, and hopefully you'll be impressed. Not exactly your typical color combination either.

Extremely nice score, I have a feeling you're going to love it.

What a beautiful liner, and a rich sweatband color.

I found some old ads for them.

Should you ever wish to part with the Hardeman, Alon, please let me know. I have but one, but I'd like more, on account of the local connection. The building that once housed the Hardeman factory still stands, by the way.

Gents, the hats have arrived and I, for one, am quite disappointed. Here is the Cavanagh:

My purpose in getting this lid was to have a casual, day-to-day lid (much of my wardrobe is made up of shades of brown) and I wanted to try a shorter brim, thinking that it's more of an informal look. Still, much too short for my taste. I'm curious to get your opinions.

You look a lot different than your Avatar!

But the height of the crown and short brim combination don't do justice to your face. I don't think it's either of these; I think this particular combination isn't the most flattering together on you. Higher crown might offset that small brim; larger brim might offset the shortened crown.

Have you tried it on straight instead of angled? Or maybe with a tall feather to give the impression of height? Sometimes these tricks work well.

We need to see pictures of you in the Hardeman.

The Cavanagh appears to be too small. It sits a bit high on your head in my opinion.
