I've worn this jacket maybe a half dozen times so far since I got it at the end of summer last year. The leather seems a bit thinner than my Schott Perfecto 618. So maybe it's 2.5 oz leather. it's advertised as medium thickness. This is horsehide of course, not cowhide. I don't know if all horsehide tends to run a little thinner than cowhide. Quality seems very comparable to Schott. I'm not seeing any flaws. No loose threads, which are common on Schott. No zipper or hardware problems. Most importantly, it feels very comfortable and I really like the look as well.

After only having a cross zip for many years, I got the hankering for a center zip. After much research, the one I really wanted was the Cockpit USA Midnight Rider jacket. But at $920, plus shipping and tax, I felt it was overpriced, just didn't want to pay that much for a simple jacket. Plus, the Midnight Rider only comes in letter sizes, ugh! Enter Legendary USA. So with Legendary, I got a great deal, bought during one of their sales, only paid $600 for my Beck 777, if I remember correctly.

This was my first horsehide jacket. Since then, I got two other horsehide Beck jackets from Legendary USA: the 501 Trucker and, most recently, the 999 cross zip. Happy to report that there were no problems. The quality of these also seems comparable to Schott. I'll report on these two after I've worn them. So far, I've only tried them on a few times, but they do look and feel great.

Glad to hear you lucked out.

There are other threads here warning folks off LegendaryUSA because of shady owner & practices.
While I don't think you could go wrong with Beck, avoid their proprietary products. The sizes are off and the craftsmanship is sloppy. It was a stellar company when Herman owned it.

Beck is the name they use for their home brand.
I think he means the original BECK jackets, vintage.

Yeah, I don't think there's any reason to order any more from Legendary, unfortunately. The photos of their jackets keep changing, usually for the worse. I guess I was fortunate that I got my jackets before they changed leather sources or manufacturers. By the looks of things, they must be changing stuff around every few batches of wholesale orders. That ain't good.
