Selling my Levi’s LVC leather jacket purchased from Japan. I’ve only ever seen one of these before. I believe it’s from around 1999 and one of if not the first LVC leather jacket ever made. Its made in Italy of a super supple thick but soft horse hide. Pre washed for a distressed look from the start. This jacket is the real deal, such a cool fit giving you that rugged look and feel. This jacket feels like how you imagine a bad ass leather would feel. I think its pretty much a grail jacket the likes of which you may never see again for sale. Pretty sure in 40 years time Levi’s would pay you a handsome sum for this.
Looking for $1100 USD ppff.
Size M but more like a M/L 42/44. Just a great in between fit.
Measurements Laid flat approx or take within .1/4”
22.5 pit to pit
19.75 shoulder
26.75 sleeve
24.75 length

Jackets with this label show up on Vinted every now and then, usually Cafe racers but I've also seen other styles like yours. I never realized they were sought after collectors pieces though.

I know the distressed sheepskin version of this jacket is collectable because Daniel Craig wore it in the james Bond movie 'Skyfall'. Is the horsehide jacket also featured in some movie or is there another reason why jackets with this label are considered grail jackets?

Not quite sure if your motive was to try and discredit my post or if your genuinely curious. It’s fine either way and I’m certainly not looking to get into a tit for tat.

Ok here goes.
These were the very first LVC labels usually made with a much nicer leather than later versions. However there are a few current ones that are really nice.
Your correct that every now and then these labels do show up in the cafe racer style. They range anywhere from $500-1100. I would say a fair price for a cafe racer would be around $650. If you do have the chance to buy the one you posted for what looks like €95 you should buy it immediately. Or post the link here and I will.

This one however is pretty darn rare and I would be willing to bet that you wouldn’t be able to find one for sale.
Again if you do please post the link here.

I don’t believe its from
any movie just one LVC’s first. As for it being “grail worthy” I suppose it’s all subjective to the owner but what I can say is after having owned many top tier jackets over the years I personally think this one is an amazing leather jacket and one of my favorites.

Ps I owned the “skyfall” jacket which felt more like a movie prop than a real jacket. Although it was light weight, comfortable and a pleasure to wear it was absolutely no where near the quality of this.

I hope that answers your questions.

Thanks

How wide is the cuff at the opening? How long is the front length of the jacket? Are there any inside pockets? Thanks.

There are no inside pockets. I can get the measurements for you tomorrow if that’s ok.

Interesting jacket, there was someone on FL looking for one of these a while back.

No sure why… but, LVC did an entire line out of Italy during this period. I was lucky enough to snag two really nice LVC made in Italy western shirts at their once “flag ship” store in SF (now an Apple Store) I remember these jackets too.

The two shirts I have are patterned from actual vintage Levi’s shirts, so they are fitted shirts. This was the period in the late 90’s when all standard line Levi’s shirts were huge oversized patterns, so the LVC line was very unique indeed. They are tailored and made really well, I still have them and wear them to this day!

I’ll post a pic, if I remember…
:)

Really cool jacket!

Damn! Hate to see you sell this one...
I know it’s such an amazing jacket. If I was going to keep it I would need to shorten the sleeves and I didn’t really want to make any alterations to this one.
