I agree with Bruno. If you are going to keep it long, a wider brim is a must. Which is why I suggested the cowboy earlier or an Akubra country style hat.

Johnny Depp has the hippy hair and the wide brimmed fedora….Damned Beatnik. You can also try and find an old cowboy hat give it a real good soak and turn it into an Oscar Wild kind of thing.
