It’s not mine, but I wish it was. Fantastic looking homburg…I’ll take mine with just a bit wider brim. :)

New hat day! 100% beaver in dark moss. The open crown is 6 3/8 inches and the brim is 3 1/8 inches. The crown ribbon is 22 ligne in ashen green. The binding 9 ligne and also in ashen green. The crown is very thin and easily creased and the brim is firmer, but not too stiff. The whole hat is expertly pounced and has a great hand.

I couldn’t be more pleased with how this hat turned out. I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to get a dark moss from Gannon.

That hat is terrific, I love it! I'm so excited for my Gannon, hopefully in December.

Excellent hat, Brent. I'm going to have to try something with a wide(er) ribbon next time.

I sometimes have trouble getting the dimensions I want from dress weight felt supplied by Winchester. Western weight felt is an option, but it’s often very stiff and not what I want. Michael Gannon and I were exchanging messages and this new-to-me information was shared:

“Winchester also makes a 6oz hat body that is kind of in between dress weight and western weight but the brims are not as wide as a western hat body, I think the max brim width for those with your crown height and size would be 3 1/4" - 3 1/2".”

This 6oz felt really intrigues me. I’m looking to give one a try when I get back to the top of the queue. Has anyone else had any experience with this 6oz felt?

Rick Walker (@humanshoes) of Phoenix Hat Co. made me a hat that he said was from a "mid-weight" pure beaver felt he had just gotten in. This was a few years ago, so I do not know if it is the same felt as the 6-ounce you mention, but I'm pretty certain it was a Winchester felt. It is noticeably thinner and lighter on the head than the western-weight felt hats that Michael and Rick have made for me, but is still plenty stiff to support a shaped 3" brim. I love this hat, and really like this weight, and would choose it again if I decide I need another fedora-size hat.

I'm glad that Michael is able to make a little bigger hats now! I've got two from him that I really love, but when I bought them he was really struggling to come up with the dimensions you and I prefer based on the bodies available at the time. He kept me in mind each time, though, and made what I asked for once the right body turned up for each hat.

Please tell us more about the hat specifications. The felt looks like a heather, is it rabbit, etc.

Looks great and I am sure you will get many years of enjoyment out of it.
It’s the all natural beaver in 100X or whatever it was back in 2016 or so when I ordered it. These pics are probably slightly under exposed for color due to the bright lights & white countertop. Sorry for the confusion.
