I am looking for an M1926 Officer's overcoat. Is there any place besides eBay that might have some for sale? I'd need a 44 or 42, most likely.

Officers had to supply most of their own uniforms, all of which came from tailors and clothing stores and were made from approved patterns and materials. According to my 1942 edition of "The Officer's Guide," it was frowned on for officers to purchase certain items of enlisted men's clothing such as the overcoat, as it didn't "conform to to the standard prescribed for officers." to quote the book, "If you wish to look the part of an officer, wear officer's clothing!"

In other words, don't waste money on an enlisted men's overcoat and then try to make it look like an officer's model. Get the real thing.
