Maintenance help: Fur Collars and Lining.

Hey folks,

I was wondering how do y'all take care of your fur collared jackets?
I got a Schott A-2 with a removable fur collar and vest lining. The collar has a leather backing, so it's not something you can throw in a washing machine, nor would I want to.

But I've been getting some pomade on it, not a whole lot, but I just want to take the extra precautions. But I also feel as if the rain has made it a little rougher, doesn't seem as soft.

I figured I could take a baby wipe to the pomade parts, and maybe get a soft brush and brush the collar. They have some baby brushes that seem like it could do the job.

Any input would be great.

Sorry for bumping here but what Schott A-2 has a removable fur collar and vest lining? Any picture?

Well, I'm pretty sure it's an A-2. In all honesty, I forgot the difference between flight jackets :X...

BTW, Schott calls this an A-2, namely the "4-in-1 Combination A-2" (model SM184). But it's as much a G-1 as an A-2 with its biswing beltback, and doesn't try to repro any style.

^I was able to figure out that much, but wasn't sure whether or not to call it an A-2 or G-1.

Thanks for the links. I'll try my baby brush method first, and save the cleaning methods for a later time.
