For those L.A. Loungers who got to meet 1930s-'40s movie star Marsha Hunt last night at the Cicada Club event, and for her fans in general, there will be a Turner Classic Movies (TCM) marathon showing eight of her films from Hollywood's Golden Age. In honor of Ms. Hunt's 90th birthday, TCM will present the following (Pacific Standard Time):
3:00 a.m. - THESE GLAMOUR GIRLS
(Lana Turner's first lead ever, and Marsha Hunt's first 'suicide' role.)
4:30 a.m. - SEVEN SWEETHEARTS
(Marsha H. has fun being insufferably grand.)
6:15 a.m. - THE AFFAIRS OF MARTHA
(With a great cast. Marsha H. has three leading men!)
7:30 a.m. - PRIDE AND PREJUDICE
(With Laurence Olivier in the lead. See this classic.)
9:30 a.m. - THE KID GLOVE KILLER
(A crime lab thriller with a light touch.)
11:00 a.m. - LOST ANGEL
(With the fantastic child actress, Margaret O'Brien.)
12:45 p.m. - CRY HAVOC
(World War II. Few laughs, but gripping.)
2:30 p.m. - MUSIC FOR MILLIONS
(Classics and comedy. Marsha H. plays a harp, of all things.)
