    This is a great film. One of my all time faves.
    I've mentioned it before- Scotrace has mentioned it before but it deserves another mention. Best Foreign Language Film for the year.

    I watched it on my computer the other night, so I could watch TV at the same time. Took some screen shots.
    It's Italian language with subtitles

    It's about a ramshackle group of Italian soldiers in WW2, sent to a "minor" Ag?¶an island to occupy an observe...

    As soon as they arrive on the island- strange, ridiculous and beautiful things begin to happen...

    I heartily recommend it.

    You are dead right BT and certainly one of my faves. Il Postino = the Postman is another Med flavoured movie I like too from that time.

    Easily one of the most visually stunning films ever made (and not just because of Vanna Barba).

    No US DVD release, which is extremely weird.
