We are being inundated with reports of ****mers reaching out to members by private message, ostensibly to buy an article the member has, or had, for sale. The ****mer typically has no, or a low post count, and his message will be similar to the this one:

"Hey I’m interested in your Golden Bear/HD CHP 40 you can contact me via email *******@gmail.com for further details."

We get rid of them as fast as we can, but they are like rats and new ones keep coming.

Once warned is twice armed. PC

Though less common, some ****mers also reach out if you have a WTB/WTT post up. Some variant of the following message:

"Hey I have a friend who is selling *whatever jacket you're looking for*. You can reach him through email *******@gmail.com for further details."

As already mentioned, the following applies:

Thanks for all you are doing here Peacoat! I'll sure keep my eyes open...
Also I was making up an add for boots and I added some of this detail right into the ad itself.
Not sure if it will help but I can at least try it.

Yep. I started this thread as a warning over a year ago. It is still going on. Use the examples above to determine who to conduct business with. If it's suspicious, report it.

Be interested to hear if anyone else had Thermidor contact them on Wednesday. It's people like thos that make it harder for any new in town to gain trust. I had two great interactions with guys here who had recently joined, shame some people wont play fair.
