Merle Haggard was wearing a short brim hat when everyone else was wearing a George Strait crease. He always set his own style. IMG_0722-e1490912634267.jpg

Billy Gibbons ZZ Top sets his own style. All of his hats look like a horse stomped them. billy-gibbons.jpg

Hag is the reason I went to short brims in the 80's. Love them. I bought a hat at the Resistol hat factory in about '87 and asked the styler to cut the brim down and he said "Are you sure"?? He looked at me like I was crazy.:):)

Ronnie Van Zandt had a great hat. Black Gambler with pencil rolled brim and rattle snake skin band. il_570xN.1153505036_7610.jpg

  11. If you go back some pages in this thread you'll see where one of Moon's friends owns/owned (may have sold it) one of Ronnie's hats.

Just saw them last Monday night. I'm still a big fan of Rossington & Medlocke; Johnny, not so much. But I was a fan of Darrin #1; Darrin #2, not so much.

I'm just thrilled I saw the Gaines lineup before the tragedy. They smoked.

I will leave it to the more experienced forum members to identify the hat.

I believe this is the same fedora previously posted in this thread and often worn by Dave when performing

I just saw that myself. I didn't realize he was in the Strawberry Alarm Clock.

  18. Man, all the old-timers are dying out.

  19. Does Marshall Tucker still have any originals left?
