A quick post and pictorial of my "new" used Eastman Leather Company Luftwaffe Jacket:

I know it's been covered here before but I wanted to share a few quick thoughts and impressions of this new acquisition.

1. I found this on ebay about 2 weeks ago and received it at the start of this week, the jacket is a standard size 48, the largest made by Eastman according to the website. To be honest the jacket "may" be a tad short and a smidge tight across the shoulders..But it is wearable and I will wear it.

2. Beautifully soft yet firm leather the hide feels substantial yet is almost velvety to the touch.

3. I really like the moleskin lining, the lining runs through the sleeves and it takes an extra second to get on and off..Maybe cause the jacket is a bit tight?? So far not an issue.. Absolutely love the Blue color lining, very unique.

4. As far as construction.. it is flawless. I dont have another Eastman to compare it too, but it has lived up to the hype.. the zips, the stitching, the leather, the lining are all great!

Pix??

Looks a perfect fit to me, Boyo. Can't see any tension lines across the back, perhaps you're feeling it tight under the arm? I should imagine that'll stretch out.

Well... the jacket doesn't look too short to me but each of us has our own comfort zone for that. The sleeves look plenty long and I've learned that if something's a little tight across the chest, wear a scarf/ascot and don't zip it all the way up! I think it's a good score. Your upper arms got enough room?

I can bend'em just enough... The sleeves do tighten up a bit and I am a bit restricted but not what I would consider uncomfortable. I'll be laying off the arm curls at the gym for a while.

I think once you have worn it for a few weeks, and have driven while wearing it, the shoulders and upper arms will loosen up. Definitely lay off the curls. Whenever I get the urge to go to the gym, I lie down and take a nap. The urge quickly goes away.

Strange that your avatar shows you as a small guy with a funny haircut, but the jacket picture shows you as being much larger than that. I would say you have spent too much time at the gym. Need to take more naps.

Peacoat,

That's the best advice I've gotten yet on the F.L. Lol... Thanks

The previous owner states the jacket is from 2009... Will an older jacket still loosen up?

As long as the leather is still resilient, it should continue to stretch to fit the owner. I would think the leather would continue to be resilient for at least 40 or 50 years.
