I'm almost exactly between 7 1/4 and 7 3/8. A true 7 1/4 is always tight. I've found that I only wear the hats that feel 'perfect', so I've been selling the ones that don't. I've come to the conclusion that if a hat doesn't look good on you, and doesn't fit right, then it doesn't matter how beautiful it looks on a shelf. I used to have the same problem with ties.

It measures 22 5/8" and I can cram my head into it, but a hat with that high of a crown needs to accept more of my cranium.
